Definition of Turkey Run/Dual SportA turkey run/dual sport run is a route-sheeted recreational trail ride, with a game of chance thrown in to add interest. At a series of checkpoints located along the route, participants receive chits, or have their arrival at the checkpoint recorded. At the conclusion of the ride, participants draw playing cards, the number drawn being equal to the number of checkpoints the participant reached. The cards each rider draws are arranged into poker hands, and awards for the event are given out based on the value of the poker hands drawn. |
